Review Teen Site Please?

I'm launching a teenage community (which will host a web-comic eventually) and I was looking for feedback on my design. I coded the blogging system myself and the "micro-blog" is powered by twitter, in case you want to know.
If you'd like, please look at the forum design as well.

I like the design... I'd just be careful about using such big words like "sentient", because teenagers might not know them.

In fact, John Carlton says to talk to "third graders" in any copy, even if you're trying to talk to adults.

The content seemed to resonate with me as a young person. I agree with the above poster that you should avoid more advanced words like sentient. Are your site objectives to make money from advertising, or just to have some fun? If you want to make money, you may want to reconsider your ad placement. Finally, the fact that you header is not clickable really killed me. I wanted to go back to the home page and couldn't use the header image for navigation!

For fun, and the header is clickable, just not on the forums. I'm working on it...as for the big words, that's just how i think, but I'll try not to use them so much.

The layout is all over the place. A lot of things don't align correctly.

Design is not bad, clean and organized so good job there. Try to add few more graphics or something to grab attention, banner is only main piece of attention. Make sure to use words teens understand

Hey Sneaky,

Nice layout, though part of the "sponsors" sign is missing color and a little bit of text. Maybe where it says "Micro-Blog" have that on one line instead of being split over two lines. When you go to the forums page you want to have a link to get back to the main page. Both "home" and "forum" links disappear. Other then that great look to the site and keep up the great work.

It should be on one line, I think i need to make the entire site shorter in width to accommodate those with smaller resolutions/settings. The header is click-able, but I'll think about putting in some kind of above header navigation for easier navigation. Thanks for the suggestions.

it looks like a nice site a simple banner which works well with the site but as a teenager myself it doesn't really look like the target audience is towards teenagers

I plan on adding a couple of new sections (like a chat) and I plan on separating the categories into separate pages.

The design and layout looks good. And you header is also eye-catchy. Just add more categories in your main menu.
