Well done on your fist site,

IMHO it does look a little plain and the red is very bright (very bright!) it may also be a good idea to have bunched up links underline when the mouse hovers over them
as there are sections of the page where there are loads of links very close to each other and for clarities sake, having the one that’s hovered underline will let the user know exactly which link they are selecting.

IMHO there seems to be too many ads (-vs- content).

Good first try though, well done.

Shuka,

I agree with many of the comments bakerc made. I really like his idea of the bolding of links. That would be crucial, IMHO, on your site.

In addition, I know you are seeking uniformity with your site, in terms of color choice; however, a more visually pleasing color choice (or choices) may be more ideal.

I do very much like the information you are giving to the user. Very clear, very concise, and easily found on your site. I was wondering if you considered moving the ads around on the page so the web page doesn't seem so ad focussed? Moving the Google ads around can be a little trying, but it may pay off for you more in the end.

This is a very good start for an informational site, it would be interesting to see how much further you take it as a resource for developers!

Hey Shuka,

As with other people i had trouble deciphering which bold red were links and which ones were not. I would suggest underlining the links or maybe try a different color.

A great hint i like to use whenever your creating a website is "Imagine yourself going out on a date with a beautiful women. Dressing a website is like dressing for a date. Dress like you want to get noticed but in a very hot and casual way." If you follow that rule you will never go wrong.

Best Regards,
