lajocar, I didn't have high expectations going in, but I'm thoroughly impressed by what you've put up there. I found myself getting pulled in to the content as I was reading, a definitely plug.

The positives of your website are that your content is on topic and targeted. The site design is not distracting, so I could easily make my way around, and it was clear who your audience was.

The ads were unobtrusive and out of the way. I don't really have any criticisms. Good job!

Great website. A few suggestions off the bat:

-Make a headline at the very top. Test after test has shown that headlines will catapult your conversions.

-I wouldn't talk about YOU so much in the beginning, talk about what's in it for the reader to stay on the site.

-If your monetization is AdSense/affiliate, why not take that free ebook you have for people to download and just break it up into different website pages so that you have more opportunity to make cash?

Now, I didn't check the ebook so maybe there's an affiliate link there, but it's just a thought. You could also post the pages in the ebook on your site and still do the upsell within it.

HTH!

Generally, this is a good website with some solid content. I'd move the left navigation more right to fill the blank space gap. The green menu is also a rather odd color. My biggest issue with your site is the domain. Now, you probably won't change it at this point, but it's long with lots of dashes, so it'll be much harder for users to remember.

Looks good. A few minor spelling mistakes, but what site doesn't have at least one?

Your site looks nice. It has also great content which helps beginners easily learn how to make their own website. I also like your concept, having a child playing with boxes which is a good representation for describing a beginner in the field of web designing.

I think a lot of designers could take a very important lesson from your site and that is how important it is too choose the right colors.

So many think that they should have dark, bright, or very solid colors, but as your site demonstrates, soft colors are almost always a good choice.

The reason nickohrn himself getting pulled into the content is because the colors are not distracting nor making his eyes want to look away. If your site is easy on the eyes it does help.

Most of the time, being too flashy is not the best for websites.

In my opinion.

Hey lajo,

A very informative site. The ads are out of the way which i always like. The navigational tool on the left is big so its real easy to understand. The tutorials are also very well done. I like how you have affiliate links (always a good idea for making some extra money.) Overall a very good website. I would recommend it to a couple of my friends. Great job.

Best Regards,

Pretty informative, but like Nick, I didn't have high expectations with that domain name. It's kind of long and pretty hard to remember. I'd definitely look for something easier to remember if at all possible.
