Hi guys,

I want to introduce my new website : http://www.sobooky.com.

Despite the fact that it's not Valid( I will fix the 41 errors later

), what do you think about the website?

This is an affiliate-based download directory and as such is nothing more than a modern-day version of a banner farm. There is no contextual value here; there are no reviews. The only texts presented are sales pitches for ebooks which are themselves sales pitches for the author/affiliate. Without a true home page which introduces your site and its intended purpose; without any real informational value; many of us will simply click away at first sight. I did look at every page and found nothing to make me want to investigate further on any of them. This is not intended to be mean; it is simply my impression/perception.

How could this be an affiliate-based download directory, if everything is FREEE. Yes, all the ebooks are available for free. I will be adding some content but this is what my website will look like.

Don't worry, I welcome your comment but interstand that you have maybe made a istake or it's me that do not understand what's an affiliate-based download directory? I did guessed that it was to make some money but I maybe wrong, can you explain further?

I couldn't agree more. Do you plan on allowing people who have downloaded these eBooks to review/comment them in the future?

Also, I don't really feel that your banner fits the rest of your web design.

OK, you need some helpful advise. Do a keyword search for affiliate marketing tutorials and you will find, among others, this site: http://www.tamingthebeast.net/articl...-marketing.htm Look at the site itself; it contains valuable information for the reader - especially for people new to the scene. I also agree with the comment/review idea - a GREAT one. Then your affiliate-based download directory (AKA - banner farm) could be promoted as a user review site. This would give it at least SOME value to your future readers. Note: the word readers is key here. Every single one of those ebooks is designed to get the downloader to buy from the embedded hyper-linked offers. All but the newest of the newbies will be quite aware of that fact; therefore, will not download. No download = No conversion = No income.

Guys,

I admit, that I have made an error. My purpose was just to share thoses ebooks with the community, I sure maked them resellable but it wsn't on my attention to fool other peoples, really not.

I do also admit that my website isn't yet rich in content but it will come. It my 1st real website, so yes I do have a lot of things to improve.

Yours is a brand new project which I would like to monitor for progress/changes. I remember my first website; Quick Reference: A Graphical User Bookmark Directory. It was a banner farm I used to remember all my own stuff. The banners were offset with the textual descriptions that I found useful to me. It was pretty and served me well, as a bookmark manager; not once did I make a sale from that site. LOL (laugh with me). My latest site is a blog you will find under the WWW button at the bottom of my posts. Feel free to PM or Email me anytime as I would like to work with you - knowledge not shared is worthless to everyone. BTW - This is a free(dom) offer under the open source doctrine as defined within the community.

Do you not recall the early days of your own attempts at making a mark on the world? This webmaster (title, not proficiency) asked for helpful feedback. You offer even less value than his website in useful information. Is that helpful? Constructive criticism will help a website and its author to mature; closing this thread will no longer matter - we have formed a tentative bond from which I expect we shall both grow and prosper.
