This is actually pretty good work for a first website.
The big prob here is that you have a black background, and while the website is loading you can't see and read nothing cause the background doesn't load first, you have to wait until the black background appears so the website text can be readable.
So compress your images as much as possible, you can also try inverting your color setup.
Use as a rule of thumb not to have a single image exceed the 10-12k barrier in filesize, to control loading speed.
Try to get rid of the 3 oval shaped buttons in the top. They ruin your whole design layout (they look too amature). Replace them with something else.

It was worth the time though as it was quite a learning experience. I am looking forward to any suggestions you guys have.
