We are getting ready to launch our site citydate.com and wants some feedback. FYI: no meta tags inserted yet, we are still completeing some features. Site has not been marketed yet so no PR right now. Any feedback positive or negative is appreciated.

Thanks

I agree about the template look, but its clean and easy to use. Nothing obviously wrong. What more could you want?

I'll take a crack at this one since online dating is a business I used to be in. Here are a few thoughts:

-I don't think the current layout is really featuring what's important. Front and center on the page is really just dead space listing the site features in small font. Your message about "...One Year Gold Membership Free!" gets lost competing with the graphic in the upper left and your navigation tabs. The nice "Sign Up Free" graphic is pretty far down the page and actually at the very bottom at 800x600 resolution. I would also ask if the Members Login box really needs to be featured like it is--seems like Quick Search is much more important.

-It seems like you're over emphasizing the Astrology and Help links. Is Astrology really as important as Join or Search on the home page? And do you want a prospective customer to be reading your help area right off the bat?

-I do like the eye-catching graphic in the upper left, but it seems to overpower a bit and draw your eye to your logo, which isn't even a link. You may want to think about a design element drawing visitors to the critical Join link and not just to the top nav bar. You could also make the logo and big graphic clickable, maybe to the Tour or Join pages. Even tone down the big graphic a bit...

-"Enter" is an unusual name for the Members Login button. It makes it look like that's how I get into the site for a tour or whatever, whether or not I have a login already.

-I would have no idea what the "Bachelor & Bachelorette" are. I'm assuming they are featured hot folks' profiles, but it looks like they won a contest or something.

-It's unusual to not have a real "About Us" area. If you're going to ask people for money, you should have an address somewhere--and the Help section doesn't really work as the About area to make the business look legitimate.

I might have some other thoughts later. Overall, it's very eye-catching and a nice concept. There are literally thousands of dating sites, so you have to have to be very sharp and competitive with a new site to succeed...
