I do not know much about code, but I do know a bit about design.
The banner and the style did not seem very fun, for what I am assuming is a fun site...go to istock and type in middle finger into the search bar, you will get lots of cheap,cool images.
I know you are trying to make it look like an awards site, but it still should be fun and alluring.
It seems like you have a solid business concept, but perhaps you should look at other successful sites doing what you do and see where you can replicate, improve and if possible work out a way to innovate.
