I agree with what Doylesoft said above. You could also consider hiding some of the categories from the main page when there are 0 listings in them.
Also look at your color usage, because I think I see every color in the rainbow on your site right now. Bring it down a noch and stick with a 1 or 2 main colors. Your nav menu is blue, so lets say you switch to a blue color pallete. Everything should now be in shades of blue except for things that you want to draw attention to, which could then be done in orage. Orange complements blue well, and perfectly contrasts it making it easy to direct peoples eyes with it.
Except for that it's a good layout. Pretty clear and easy to navigate. Certainly a great start.
