Hi, I have a game development blog at http://invictuspower.blogspot.com and I was looking for some constructive criticism. I'm new to the whole blog thing so I know it might be a little bad. Be helpful, kind, but not mean. Thank you =)

Hi,
Good blog. This blog is updated often and that is a good feature of a blog. When I go to blogs I want to see updated information and not the last blog posted 2 months ago. The information is good concerning your puropse of the the blog. It is a new website. It will take some time to get some suscribers to your blog and people even knowing about your blog. Good blog. Keep up the good work.

Apparently we get about 70-90 views not due to advertising and site critiquing. It's about double that when I join a new forum. The number is rising slowly but surely. More criticism is welcome, I'll critique in return =)

I must agree- good content and frequently updated content often leads to very promising and satisfactory results. Having said that, however, I must note that you used a standard Blogger template, which detracts from the content you have- it is said that people judge a website in the first 0.3 seconds they see it, and that's not long enough to reach the 'let's look at the content' part. It's an overall picture, a general impression, that counts.

Hence I would recommend a facelift of sorts to snag those crucial readers you want, something that yells out (yelling with moderation, of course) that the site is worth reading. After all, you are competing with several hundred thousand other blogs. Only when you have a readership that is confident about the good quality of material that you provide can you really start relaxing off of the design and focus wholeheartedly on the content.

Thank you. Once we get the funds we'll move to a professional website with more "standard" blogging software. We do have a decent reader base for the time being, so I suppose this is a good start for an emerging blogger.

I think the blog could look better, there are very few graphics and the ones are there are not very high quality (imho).

The "Welcome to the official blog..." paragraph is quite impossible to read, way too long text WRITTEN WITH CAPS LOCK ON is difficult to read. Especially when the font color and the background color are so close to each other. I like the idea though, it's great to tell the visitor right up front what your site is about.

What's up with the Google ads? Why don't you first build up your site, build your traffic, make yourself known, and then add some ads. Ads and small, just started sites is a bad combination if you ask me. To me, it tells me that you're only trying to make easy money and once you realize it's not that easy, your site will die and fade away. That's one reason I wouldn't read your blog in the first place.
