Hi guys,

Just wondering if you could review this redesigned auto insurance site that I am working on right now... In terms of design and SEO settings...

Any positive and negative feed backs would be appreciated...

Here's the site: autoinsuranceselect.com

Cheers!

Great colors and layout overall. The only thing I can say is that my first reaction to the page was that it was a scam/spam site. I would have immediately clicked off the page.

The area up near the charcoal horizontal navigation menu seems awfully generic. I think if the menu choices were more descriptive, like Hosted Videos was Automotive Videos, and what do the articles have to do with selling car insurance? Because they're covering so many different topics it really makes the site seem scammy to me. Why not just stick to insurance and automotive articles?

Overall nice appearance, but I'd definitely try to make it appear less like an ad scam and more like an actual, focussed information resource.

Regards,
kermit

Thanks for the review kermit... I just wanna ask, why did you think it was a scam/spam site? Is it something about the videos? or the design? Thanks in advance...

nice looking site. just a couple small things:

1) the main images (http://www.autoinsuranceselect.com/images/ais_16.jpg) are fuzzy. maybe you can use higher quality jpeg or png format

2) the bg image for some headers have stripes, and the top menu bg image kinda looks like the header bg, but different. maybe you can change them up more

3) the text for www.autoinsuranceselect.com under the logo could be positioned a little differently to take up the white space

overall it's a great site. good job

I would post some more helpful information, and the website is too clustered.

On a 1024x768 screen I have a horizontal scroll bar...Yuck!

Pop ups are annoying and most people have pop up blockers and won't even see them.

It's an ok site, but it does say professional car insurance company to me. Take a look at nationwide.com, geico.com and other insurance web sites to get an idea of the level design and professionalism of your competitors.

It has a clean, attractive design.

Do you really need so many "zip code" quote boxes, state selection, etc. on the homepage? It just uses up unneccessary space IMO.

Also too many videos, you already have a "videos" link in your navbar, so why does your homepage need all kinds of vids too?

What do the "recent articles" section have to do with auto insurance? The section to me made me feel it belonged on a personal development site.

A Horizontal scroll bar appears at the bottom of my screen also (browser I'm using is Firefox)

Probably a little heavy on the ads. I counted five ads on the homepage alone. If keeping all the ads is a must, I'd suggest spreading them out on your other nav pages, some don't have any.

Other than that, it looks alright
Good luck with the site.

I think it looks like a smooth, vibrant site. I don't see anything that would make me think it's a "scam" site (outside of the insurance realm that is ).

I must agree with dman2007 - everything looks perfect. The design and layout is great, so is on-page SEO.

With Google giving more importance on On-Page SEO ( page URLs/page Titles) - you are spot on with everything. I also like lots of relevant content on the site and I hope they are unique.

Well done.
