Am I going in the right direction?

Since I'm going to school for a degree in information systems I figured that I would start learning how to build and run a website so here it is:

Nice design. However it takes a while to load.

Also you might want to validate your site comes up with several errors.

it takes a while to load as said by hamsey, that must be changed somehow because if i wasnt to of looked at the comments i would of thoght the server wasnt up and more.

But when it loads WOW i love the design etc i find it very good the the eye and easy with the suttle colours. So the anser to your question mate is yer i love it and your going in the right direction. Good work.
