I've set up a new template site, and I'd like people to make suggestions about how I could improve the site, and the current templates.

The main web site is www.whymtemplates.co.uk.

I've got 3 templates (1 still being made today):

http://www.whymtemplates.co.uk/templates/autumn (under construction)
http://www.whymtemplates.co.uk/templates/come-visit
http://www.whymtemplates.co.uk/templates/landscape

This is my first move into real web design and I know my templates are somewhat lacking, as are my graphic design skills.

Thanks in advance,
Dan

The site is nice and simply, which I really like. Where is says 'Templates' in the logo, it looks a little buried. But I'll have to check whether it's this machine or not because it looked different on my works machine earlier.

As for your templates, again they are nice and simply. I really like the Autumn theme, I think it rocks.

Not sure if you know, but you cant preview or download the Come-Visit theme.

OK will fix that - thanks

I'm not a graphic designer at heart and I'll have to work on improving those skills and the graphics I use on the templates.

Thanks again for the review

I'm not a graphic designer at heart either, but its amazing how a nice and simply website like yours can be more affective.

Keep it up the good work

Looks nice, the simpler the better

The only question I have is if your header has to be that big? It takes up half the screen.

Yes it might be a bit too big. I'll see if I can resize it slightly - I thought it looked too big, but then I accidentally deleted my settings in Firefox and the toolbars went, and then it didn't seem so bad.

Thanks for your input

Another suggestion I have is for your copyright and policy info. is to make it a bit smaller and center it or move it to the right side. I think this would make it look more professional.

Can't wait to see your site grow and watch you learn!

yes all the above things i agree with.

With the header i think it may just be the colour and text font that is making it look a bit buried in the bushes, maybe add a drop shadow or solid shadow to see what you can do mate. I would have a go for you if you wish but im not an expert. Other then that it looks clean and simple, and very good.

Well Done

I like it. its simple to navigate aswell. But the design doesnt apeal to me and the header is a bit too big. If it had alot more content i'd love it!

On a high res screen it only takes a quarterish ... but it's still too big, proportionately. I would chop off the top of the image above the logo. I'd also do something to make the word templates stand out more against the background.

Try a single pixel black line above your copyright info.
