Hi there,

I've just launched a new online custom photo editing service PixKiosk.com and would appreciate any critique. For testing and for the limited time only, your first 3 pix are processed for free with a new registration. You can input any data in the credit card fields while ordering.

Tour of the site explains briefly what photo services we do (correcting red-eyes and color/tone, removing backgrounds, adding shadows, etc). E-cards are also working now but flash games will be added later this week.

If you are interested in having the same Flash news system as on our index page, please contact me directly. You can update the news in simple HTML form. All you will need is Unix server with PHP and Flash support. We can exchange this module only for the pixkiosk.com site contents editing. We'll give you all the scripts and help with setting it up.

Mike

A beautiful site. Excellent work! I like the color scheme and your navigation is cool and easy to use. All in all the kind of work I hope to learn to be able to create.

Thank you all for the comments. I was planning to hear more critique though

If everything so nice, why people don't make the (free) orders?!

We're thinking about the slogan for our website. Now we use "Images without borders", but maybe you can come up with something better than this?

Also, I'd like to change the "Welcome to PixKiosk" on the home page to something more appealing, intriguing and self-explanatory, like:

- Welcome to online digital dark room!
- PixKiosk: personal retouch for the kiosk price
- ...?

What do you think?

My suggestions: give the title "...made simple" a more attractive color, and the text beneath that the color the title now has. For the rest I think it's a fine site. Consider submitting it to the weekly contest on my site: www.webmaster-planet.com
You'd make a fair chance.

Hi, can you please comment the attached banner that we are going to use for the Pixkiosk E-cards promotion? Is it good? What would you change, if any? Thanks!

Hi PixKiosk,

Welcome to WT. I debated on a review, because IMO your first post seemed more like an ad than a request. I think it stayed out of the SPAM can due to your free offer about the flash news system.

First impressions mean a lot when it comes to a site and whether people use it or not.

I think the appearance is very good. It has an interesting splash page with good effects. And it wasn't too heavy in size.

Functionality is good. I didn't find any broken links or bugs.

The form does follow the function. It is clear that you are the digital doctor!

I can't answer for everyone, but the software that came with my scanner and my digital camera does most of what you offer. I think the site is very good, but the service might not be required by lots of people.

Then again, with more advertising, you might start getting the people that don't want to take the time or make the effort to edit their own pics. I think most the people here are doing that work themselves.

Only thing I would change with the banner is to make it say "Choose a Celebrity!". I didn't understand it at first, I might be a little slow. But it's short and a good banner.

I hope that helps.

Hi! I have one question about promoting our E-Cards services at http://ecards.pixkiosk.com

We have an opt-in list of PixKiosk news subscribers with their birthdays and I'd like to wish them a Happy Birthday and tell them that we have a great free online flash E-Cards editor that s/he can use to send greetings to their friends and relatives (there're actually also free flash games too).

This E-Cards flash editor is free and you can use backgrounds and objects either from our online Catalog or from your own pictures. Do you have any ideas how we can promote this service to our subscribers who have birthdays?

Now we send a "Happy Birthday!" e-mail to a person in the list with a link to a personolized e-card in the e-mail. For example:
http://ecards.pixkiosk.com/viewcrd.p...9a492d4696ec31

But according to the statistics, 90% of the people close their browsers after viewing their e-card I assume that the text under the e-card is really bad. So, I plan to use the following text to attract users to learn more about PixKiosk. Could you comment on it?

===========
Dear USERNAME!

We congratulate you on your birthday. In such a remarkable day we wish you prosperity, happiness, success in your personal life and all the good luck in the world. May all your dreams come true!

You are not in the mood today to see these stars by your side? No problem! Just add pictures of you favourite stars to this e-card. To add your own photo to it just download your picture and place it wherever you want. PixKiosk made it extremely interesting and easy. On top of that it's absolutely free. Just click on this link and enjoy the creating process.
===========

Thanks in advance!

Here's a suggested change to your ad copy:

Dear USERNAME!

Happy Birthday! We wish you prosperity, happiness, success in your personal life and all the good luck in the world. May all your dreams come true!

Here's a FREE gift as a PixKiosk user: A picture of you with your favorite star!

Just click on this link and enjoy today! The process is easy, and it's FREE!

How's that?
