Which design do you like best?

Hey guys, so heres the quick rundown.

I have been wanting to create a blog for a long time, and so lately I started to throw some designs together. The titles and content don't really mean anything, they're just filler.

I am trying to stick to a niche, but haven't chosen one yet (though I wish I could go the boingboing.com route).
Anyhow, you may notice that I have tried to blend in a few ads; chiefly I would like the blog to produce an income.

Which mock up do you think has promise? How can I improve the design?
Any niche ideas?

The design you like most, if you like any, is the one I'll commit to developing.

Ps: The last design may feature a button where the user can change the color scheme of the site. I included a few potential colors for you guys to check out.

The second design does not look like a mere blog, but more like a multi-functional website, so i would not recommend it for a blog. I think the last one would be good, but I personally don't like the colors you offer as a background. To my opinion they are too gloomy.

To my mind, the content is much more important than the design. If you're using WordPress, it's easy to change to a new theme whenever you feel like it.

I'd just get it up and running as quickly as possible.

I agree that the content is more important than the layout. The colours are a little on the gloomy side and I would stay away from the one that looks like a multi functional web site.

i really liked the first one tho :P its not only very simple but it will be like a real blog site =D
