Now, herein lies the problem. I was hired on as an in-house computer tech, with a background in networking, repair, and web-page **MAINTANENCE**.

3 months later, I find myself in the postion of Office Manager/Marketing Director/**WEBMASTER**. The problem is, while I can do anything with a webpage that you give me, or adjust anything about a webpage, I know nothing about what SELLS online. My company is a real-estate related company (no we don't buy or sell real-estate) and I am not allowed to ask for anyone to REVIEW www.landsecrets.com but I seriously need help with the design aspect of things. HELP ME PLEASE!!! any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I believe you just did ask for a review of the site, did you not?? Anyway, I find the site extremely boring and there is nothing there. All you have is a simple sale sheet and really doesn't sell anything. If I saw this webpage by searching, I would leave it immediately. I dislike sale sheet websites because most of them are scams. You need to think about putting up something that is valuable to your visitor because all you have is a few poorly written bullet points!

GoodGod, jonSmith, who did that site? sorry for being facetious but it doesn't exactly sell anything, it's just a text dump and a picture. you may want to look at my site to see how pictures add impact, but i'm a bit biased.

this is a vanity site that has a personal picture and the opening sentence begins "I'm Huey Walsh", so do i care. i want to know in 2 seconds what you do and what you offer. this site just looks like those spam sites you get a lot in google sponsered links. Sorry just been cruel to be kind.

may i suggest you show google maps on the homepage and link pages on your site to show real estate available in florida. you could colour code each area available so at a glance visitors know which territory is for sale and what price is offered. They'd then click the area and you can funnel them through to a capture page, get their email, phone number, etc and then you have a hot lead to action with a phonecall.

just a thought, but a lot of rework.

I don't know who did that crap LOL, I am new to the company...I actually sent everyone to the landing page, which is designed for email capture, the actual sales page isn't too much better, though it does actually contain sales copy at:

And yes, it is a sales site, though it is a good program. I have gone over the information being sold, and it is valuable. I just need ways to improve the site quality. I am in definate aggreement that it looks like a straigt-up SCAM. I just don't know what to do to make it more appealing.

I do, scrap it and start again. why would i want to scroll for fifteen years on a page to get to the bottom. Obvious spam site as it written for google bots and not humans!!!!!!!!

Just sit down with a blank piece of paper and scribble away, something will come out of it. If it doesn't, get drunk, smoke some dube and you'll definately get some creative juices flowing then.

Sorry John - but, I'd definitely see this as a "get-rich-quick-SCAM" and would exit as fast as I could!

If your boss hired you as the Office/Marketing Manager, I'd run as fast as I could to a new job -- that site is one of the poorest I've seen in a long time; reminds me of all the crap you see on ClickBank.

Ignoring the landing page for an instant.. the sales page is just waaaaaay too long and the text is too 'in your face', it's virtually screaming at visitors, which is bad.

Chunk it - meaning break up the sales pitch into easily digestible chunks of information and make a menu so that people navigate anywhere on the site they want to see. Way way too much linear scrolling is just annoying.

There are lots and lots of photos you could use that would be an attractive addition and I agree with Keggy that it needs to tell people right off the bat what you're selling and why the heck they should buy it. I think the map idea is excellent.

You don't need webmaster help.. you need web MARKETING help

You must change everything, but first, You must change approach. And if it's true what You'd say about knowing HTML, CSS and other things, then sit at the desk and make necessary changes.

1st of all u need a PayPal Account for Direct Buy, if u offer that
2nd put some pictures (people like to see what they get)
3rd use a lower txt.size (u can put more info there)
4th make a good site-content structure (like in books or news papers)
