Color design issues on laptop

I've recently gotten a new laptop. It works fine, except now I'm finding pages I design on it look great on it, but on my regular workstations, the colors are way off. No one would design that way on purpose.
This is the first laptop I've had with this much of a difference.
Has anyone else seen this, and is there a way to correct the colors so they are truer on my laptop?
Thanks.

You can calibrate your displays.

Ive noticed that before with my laptop - its usually because if i'm looking on the screen from an angle that isn't the optimum one then the colours appear differently.

The other thing is that you may have a different colour depth on your laptop than you do on your workstations. Check that in your display property for each machine.

I have an HP laptop that had the same issues. I tried several different free calibration softwares to no avail.

I contacted hp support and they instructed me to make sure the drivers were all up to date for my video card. I updated it and it was still the same.

Inevitably. I found an online calibration that helped. I now run two monitors, one is a regular flat screen monitor set at 1024 x 768 pixels that I cross check all of my work as I go. I guess I have just learned to deal with it without buying 700.00 worth of rgb calibration software.

good luck

Good suggestions. I reloaded the OS, and just used the drivers off the CD that came with the system. I'll check for an updated driver ....and look for calibration software. It can't hurt.
The color is pale on the laptop so that what looks good on it, looks soooo bad on a regular workstation. I hope this helps, and will post once I've tried it all.

Any calibration website to recommend?

This is an example. Do a Google search if you need to find more but, this would be a good start. Just thumb through that page for more information.

I also installed quickgamma. Its a small program to help in this matter.

Hardware color calibration helps, but some LCD panels just can't be calibrated well enough (Dell 1905FP, for example).

Is the laptop plugged in? Pale sounds like if you're running off battery power, and it's cut down the amount of juice it delivers to the screen to make the battery last.

( Sorry if this is obvious and insulting - just the very first thing to jump into my mind. )
