Ok, i don't even know where to start with this. Basically this is what it is...

I'm 19 years old with no web design experience what so ever. I need resources on where i should go to get into it? Books or internet articles mainly. i want to build a website sorta like a dating website/myspace. that's probably a hard thing to do but i gotta start learning somewhere. I want to know what i need to make this happen. I already have dreamweaver(from a friend). what would you experts suggest i do?

if you don't know how to design i suggest you to read and ask someone to tutor you...search on SEs with tutorial videos for wed designing...try to learn adobe photoshop that you can use in designing...you have to learn a lot in doing this from design, programming to SEO if you really want your site to be successful...goodluck...

I was going to give the same list as Kirtan. The other option would be to hire someone to do the work.

You can hire someone to do the work for you, but if you're interested in actually learning to do it for yourself, you could enroll in a night class or stop in at Barnes and Noble, which should have a couple shelves of books about the topic.

the other- very simple idea: BUY the script comes like a enw site - you market it - let the script do the $$$.

I would suggest that you install a pre-existing dating website and then reverse engineer the code to figure out what is going on.

There is a really good dating website software called osDate from tufat.com which is absolutely free. I installed a version for my sister's dating website, and I had it up in a few hours.

osDate uses the SMARTY template system which can be a pain, but as soon as you figure it out it is pretty easy to follow the flow of how the program works and then you can modify it to suit your needs.

my answer is a bit silly for that but my suggest is the easiest . install a joomla with a dating component

Dating scripts are easy to com by these days. Learn PHP and MySql.

I've done several dating systems for clients. They are not that hard to setup, the hard part is getting people to use them. LOL That is where the real magic lies.
