I am in a great need of help. I am no master of Dreamweaver or HTML. I am pretty much self taught. My website is www.gracechurchoflasalle.com. I was getting very tired of updating the drop-down boxes or links on every single page each time I added a new page that required a link to get to it. Someone told me to add templates. I read up on it and looked very easy, so stupid me, I didn't test just one page or work in a test environment...I went ahead and created the template and attached the template to ALL pages except the Index (home) page and the main pictures page.

Here are the issues that cropped up, and I just don't know what to do or where to begin:

- An error appears when you try to click on any of the links that have the template attached to it. It reads: Problems with this Web page might prevent it from being displayed properly or functioning properly. [...]. Line: 2, Char: 1, Error: Invalid character.

- The fonts on many of the pages got really messed up. For example, go to the link called "Adult" under the "Ministries" drop-down box. Why in the world does the font change on the links? I am using a template and updating it to every page. They should all look the same. This is just one example of font changes. Many pages either have font changes on the page itself or the template.

- Under the "Pictures" drop-down box, some pages show the link "Mall Madness 06" and some do not. Again, this is a template so what shows on one page should show up on all! I did update each page with the template.

I am at a loss and I am so discouraged. In just a few hours, I feel like I've ruined work that has taken me a long time to accomplish. The worst part is that I can't even roll back my changes. When I tried to detach the template from a site, it still gave all the same problems.

Thank you to anyone who can offer any help.

have you fixed the problem? Because I looked at it and the page looked fine. Loaded right and all.

Thank you so much for your reply, jbuchanan! I really appreciate it. The site is still messed up, but the home page is fine. Click on other pages. You will either have an error pop up, or the error will be down at the bottom left-hand side of your screen (saying something like "this page has encountered errors and cannot be displayed properly").

In addition, notice the font of the links at the top (home, about us, ministries, about us, etc.). They change depending on what page you are on. And the mall madness link from the Pictures drop-down menu appears sometimes and sometimes not. But I used a template and applied it to ALL pages, so it should look the same! I don't know what to do.
