Hi there, I wonder if anyone can help me.

I'm making a website at the moment and have used the Dreamweaver 'show pop-up menu' javascript behaviour. It all works perfectly fine when viewing it from my hard drive. Ive uploaded all of the files (including the mm_menu.js file) to http://www.tuestunim.com/newlonsdale but they don't work. They're supposed to pop up when you put your mouse over the 5 words at the top. Using MSIE (or anything else for that matter) while viewing it from the hard disk I get no errors. When viewed online (if you look at it, that is.. please?!) there are errors on the page.

Can someone have a look at the code for me and let me know why they're not working please? Either that or has someone else had a prob like this and just know what to do?

Thanks massively in advance.

Scott Brown.

I strongly suspect that your mm_menu.js file in the the wrong directory.

If you create the page using Dreamweaver and create the drop down behaviours using Dreamweaver AND use Dreamweaver to add the page to your server; the mm_menu.js file should be placed on the server in the correct directory by Dreamweaver when you select 'Include Dependent Files = Yes.

In any case the file MUST located on the server as specified in line 89 of your page (This is the line: <script language="JavaScript" src="mm_menu.js"></script>). The code seems to indicate to me that your page is looking for mm_menu.js in your root directory.

That's worked, thanks a whole lot!

I've no idea why it didn't work in the first place though. I uploaded the site using CuteFTP originally and to see what the differences were between my first upload and my second I put it to a different directory. For some reason the mm_menu.js files are different sizes (28.52k for the one that didn't work and 29.27k for the one that does). Surely there should be a difference depending on which program you choose to upload with should there?

Anyway, it's worked now so I'll carry on with my work I think

Cheers,

Scott.

No there shouldn't be a difference, maybe the program timed-out while u were uploading and u didn't notice the upload wasn't done.

Anyway its working so

Does anybody know how to modify the mm_menu so that the drop down appears on the right side of the link? I tried changing it using the behaviour, but for some reason it does not work when I switch the option to left instead of down. :/

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hi everyone, I'm new to the website and it seems like people in here no what they r talking about. I have a question about creating a drop down menu in dreamweaver and saving it out as a server side include. I did this and it says to take all the head, body and html tags out of the .ssi document. One problem is the menu was created using dreamweavers 'show pop-up menu' javascript behaviour and it puts the an 'onload' command in the body tag. I believe this is an integral part of the drop down menu working properly. How do I get around this? Please help.

Suckerfish drop downs are a pretty good alternative. Multi browser, light javascript, customizable.... I use them in <?php include("includes/navigate.inc"); ?> and it seems to work well for me.

Give it a look.

Scroll to the bottom of the page for examples

Hi ppl,

I have used the MM menus before but they where a pain in the *** , then I switched to the MX CSS Menus from www.interaktonline.com .... unfortunately they where bought by Adobe and dropped their products .

Now I am trying the Creative DW Menus from www.extendstudio.com
The menus are a pretty good alternative to the MM menus and MX CSS Menus.

Cheers,
Winnie
