Hi,
I am looking for an editor with a specific function.
I want to be able to expand and collapse specific parts of the code. For example, if I click on a table tag, I have a little minus (-) picture on the left to collapse the entire table, and when collapsed, I get a plus symbol to expand it again.
I would also like to be able to highlight text (complete or incomplete tags) and then be able to collapse it too.
Dreamweaver 8 can do this exactly, however, I have some issues with dreamweaver so I would like to find another one that can do it.
The editor does not have to be a WYSIWYG editor and it does not have to be free (however free is good).
Preferably, the editor could also do:
-syntax highlighting for CSS, XHTML, PHP, and BASH
-line numbers
-regexp search functions
-can highlight multiple lines and press tab or shift+tab to indent or unindent
-have templates for new files
-allow me to create button to insert frequently used code
-remembers tabs when I press enter
-have tabs to have multiple documents open
-have the option of unix/windows file types
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
