Sorry to double post here but, let's discos spy-ware and it's contributing factor to the world wide unawareness of pop-ups! Jonathan, you mentioned you are having major issues with pop-ups. I suggest downloading http://lavasoftusa.com < ad-aware to help ease the brutal onslaught of pop-ups everyone receives.

Note to noobs:
============
Spyware is Internet jargon for Advertising Supported software (Adware). It is a way for shareware authors to make money from a product, other than by selling it to the users. There are several large media companies that offer them to place banner ads in their products in exchange for a portion of the revenue from banner sales. This way, you don't have to pay for the software and the developers are still getting paid. If you find the banners annoying, there is usually an option to remove them, by paying the regular licensing fee.
============

Hope that helps,

Devin

Ad-aware is a great program for getting rid of spyware aka scumware. I don't have a problem with popups on my own computer, but I do in places like my college's computer labs. It's really annoying because you can't do anything to fight 'em, except hit alt+f4 a lot.

Never use pop-ups on my sites, and really don't appreciate the pop-ups on other sites.

Best Wishes,
Giselle

If I wanted to by a product from the internet, I'd look for it. I don't need it delivered to me!
