I am looking for an alternative to the Coppermine photogallery.

I have a Window 2003 Server with MS SQL on it.. Apparently Coppermine doesn't work with MS SQL... and my school isn't willing to pay for mySQL....

I like coppermine, it's a very good application. I think Gallery2 is much better though, it's much more robust and has a ton more features.
You'll need to evaluate your needs and figure out which one suits you best.

It amazes me how many people don't know what is free. Yes, mySQL is free and as far as I know most schools already have it installed on the server along with PHP, if they offer computer courses. Take a look at the Photo Gallery demo at:
http://www.dmcreativeservices.com

It's easy to install and is affordable for professional software.

Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

Thanks! is there a live site that is using it?

I got coppermine working on the server. But the thing is. We want a Gallery that is very user friendly, [opensource or not] that we can basically upload a zipfile, and the program will automatically extract the files and create a gallery.

We want to do this on our school server. So parents, students and teachers can upload galleries and their own will. [but we would like to make it an approval based gallery]
