Hey everyone

Normally needing a lot of bandwidth is a good thing, right? Well, what's happened is I'm hosting a video on my website, and it's a huge video -- 60MB. Now, that's great for the members of my website, but my problem is this video is getting spread around the internet like wildfire. While this is good, I'd also like some return for my message board community.

My question is, is there any way I can make it mandatory to sign up as a member of my website in order to view the video?

Currently the video's URL is listed on other message boards that receive a lot of traffic, can I protect the video somehow so that others can't view it unless they sign up on my site?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Erica

You can make it as simple or complex as you like, but if you put the video on a passworded page or in a passworded directory you should be good to go.

We have an entire membership area that has different usernames and passwords for each person that automatically bills them and ends their access upon cancellation or you can go as simple as having a single user name and password that you can supply to those you wish.

Under google you can do a search for password scripts and I am sure you will come up with a ton from free to astronically priced.
