I was trying to read a post in another webmaster forum only to find I was denied access by a IP block of RoadRunner. Well this site helped me to get to the forum anonymously to read the posts I had wanted to read.

http://nonymouse.com/anonwww.html

I can see the reason but it still steams me that the whole of roadrunner is blocked because of actions of a few.

Folks can also try out

www.anonymizer.com

This can help in getting around IP blocks too.

Those are all really cool, but I think that I'd prefer using @nonymouse because it's free, and you don't have to sign up to use it.

If someone blocks you, why would you have the right to go back? I mean, they did block you for a reason probably..

True in the case of forums etc. but unfortunately blocking just one person is very difficult. The majority of internet users do not have a static IP address, hence each time you logon you may get an IP which was blocked by someone else's actions. Also, as in Drache's case, sometimes people will block a whole range of IP addresses e.g. 174.54.21.* (just an example, don't know who that belongs to), so you might not have been blocked directly but have no access.

Hi tercede,

As I live in China, I also have problems accessing many Internet websites because they are blocked. The same is true for many other Asian countries. Although I have already given up on trying to use anonymizers and proxies (as the filter here is extremely efficient and effective), I do occasionally come across a gem that works.

Hi, this is a rather delayed reply, but what software exactly do you use to get the job done?

I need to access a site that runs on a secure server. Unfortunately, the IP addresses form where I hail seem to be blocked (since using other ISPs return the same inaccessibility); but I know from friends abroad the site is still up.

Problem with most software is that they can't access into secure directories... I am aware this is possible because Anonymizer says so, but is there are "free" alternative? nonymizer can't do it.

Thanks.
