Step 1 should always be simply drawing it out. Whether its on paper or in photoshop. Once you have how you want it to look drawn out I would make a finaly image in photoshop(if not already done) and use it as a guide. Slice it up and start coding. Use the sliced image in places where you have yet to code it in. And always ask for thoughts from others as to what they think could be improved. Also checking out other sites that have simoilar designs to what you want just to see how thiers works and how it looks. If you need help PM me I would be happy to assist in any way I can.
