Hi. I was wondering how much it would cost to have a ecommerce (online shopping) site built. Also, what company would you recommend?

Ecommerce websites vary in price depending on what you require. I work for a
company that charge anything up to £2K. On top of that is a £395 annual service
contract what gets withdrawn from your account every year. That would include
unlimited images and products, also top ranked on ALL major search engines.

I quoted £2K but I highly doubt you would pay that. The most we have ever
charged is around £1500, but like I said, the price will depend on what you require.

It does seem a lot of money, but you would be surprised how many companies we
actually pull in per week. We also provide a money back guarantee if you are not satisfied.

Best Regards,

Jamie.

Isn't it good just to have normal hosting and place a ecommerce script on it? Like oscommerce or something? That'll probably be way cheaper then ecommerce hosting... (I think)

It will definitely be cheaper for a new website. As traffic and sales increases, you might want to get a better and commercial solution so that you get support for the script as well.

I've tried OSCommerce.. but they don't have Japanese... Actually they do. but its really bad. I started making my own "Japanese" language package thing. But it took way too much time. I'm not much of a programmer so I got really irritated at looking at code. I also tired ZenCarts, but for exmpale if you have a TShirt with the options sizes L M S. It will decrease the stock of ALL instead of only S or only L...
