My fiance can't access any email (Hotmail/Gmail etc) at work because I presume there is some sort of software that denies them access. Is there any way I could put a link on my website that would allow her to bypass the company firewall or whatever it is? Thanks.

I think (although I could be wrong) that your fiances work has some sort of block on the network meaning certain sites cannot be accessed - resulting in an error page. If I am thinking correctly here from previous experiences the way they do this is through ip addresses.

I'm not too sure on the site front - there may be a script but it will involve linking to hotmail etc. so will presumably be blocked.

Maybe it is worth trying out a proxy connection, i.e. www.proxify.com and this could bypass the software - although you will have to pay to use interactive features. If this bypasses the software (although I suspect they will have blocked any proxy sites) then you should download a proxy software and try that.

If your fiance is on an Intranet there is no way to get outside the firewall without contacting the network admin. If you try to use proxies you will inherently cause red flags no matter the sites subject. (from experience btw)

Might I suggest using an online account and importing the messages. This way you can get mail without staying on the Network. Netscape, Gmail, Hotmail etc...

In other words, you can access an email account via the Internet. You can use email such as Gmail, Hotmail and the like without downloading the messages locally.

I see what you mean now; that is actually the problem (I probably didn't explain properly). As soon as you type in www.hotmail or gmail the actual website address is blocked - I was wondering if there was a way round this.
