I just donno these keywords things. I made a long list of keywords and put the same in every page of site www.etravelnepal.com . My site yet has not been able to get enlisted in google. It comes up in yahoo yet only then when you are typing out of ordinary search phrases. What are we supposed to write in the kewords tag? How long is it supposed to be? Is it necessary to write the same word once in Capital (the first letter) and again without caps? And what are we supposed to do with the description tag when everything has been mentioned in the keywords tag. My prblem seems pretty long but please could someone help me out. I desperately want to get a ranking in google.

i believe your keywors need to be comma seperated (if you aren't already doing this) and the decription tag is supposedly what the user sees when serching so you get:
WEBSITE TITLE
description here blah blah balh...

Although i dont think many search engines even bother with keywords and descriptions anymore, i think they just get the info they need from the page.. not sure tho i jus read it sumwhere... i still put keywords in though jus to make sure...

Well, I have put commas between my keywords . When submitting a site to google to, they ask for the keywords. I guess my kewords are too long. And thanks for your description of the description tag. Yet could you advice me on how to improve my search engine ranking. I'm just a novice n can't afford pro SEOs.

Have u also been using this software? I am on a very slow connection and the file size is too big. It seems it will take at least an hour to download it.
I built my site with frontpage and have been experimenting on other HTML editors . Which one would be better to learn php?

First, I wouldnt worry too much about the keywords. But I wouldnt repeat them either. Use commas to seperate them and try to use some phrase as well as general terms.
It is much harder to get ranked high with general terms i.e "nepal" than for a more targeted phrase "discover nepal"

I would move your title to the top above the meta tags. make the title more descriptive of what you are offering.

How long have you been up and running?

How many times have you submitted to Google?? Once twice or more??

Well, I have been running htis site for nearly a year. And I have submitted loads of times to google. I have also used the services of some sites which submit our sites tto many search engines at the same time. Yet my site never managed to get up in google.

Hello sameer785,

Google did find your site, do a search on this page:http://www.seochat.com/googledance/ and you will see google find your site through different channels.

But it seems odd that Google did not give you any page rank at all since your site has lots of contents. I guess you need trade links as well ( i am not sure if you are doing that).

But sometime, google pr doesn't mean much, one of my sites has no PR but Google sends traffic to it daily, but my other site : http://www.loans-center.com has PR4 and I see less than 30 traffic from Google.

My 2 cents.

It seems that my site has finally managed to get indexed in google. Just recently when I did a search on google, it wasn't showing up. I had also submittted my site to dmoz just 2-3 days before. Don't we get a reply when our site is indexed in DMoz ? It seems that it got indexed there too. I had a mirror page for the site hosted on a free hosting service provider just for testing. I wonder wheteher that will affect my site being indexed in Dmoz coz the dmoz poilcies say not to submit mirror sites.
I guess it will still take a lot of time for my page to get a pr or move into the 1st 3 pages of search queries.

Yea... Juz separate ur keywords with commas and make sure u try to submit ur site to most huge search portal (yahoo etc)

To get the top 3 listings, usually you have to pay them to get that high... However, there are methods to get top 3 w/o paying too... Maybe someone else can share a tips or so...
