Well I am glad I found this nice forum. It appears to have really wonderful and really useful information and advice from people at all levels of webpage mastering. I have looked high and low in a few books and on some websites, but no where have I found information on how to do somethings in Dreamweaver 4 I know I should be able to do.

I am a beginner, but have played with sites for awhile. I wish I could afford to go to school to learn all these fun things, but that is not in my cards for now. I don't know anything about CSS and pretty much draw things out with layout tables and layout cells and I can handle some Snippets of code and java.

Something which has driven me mad for awhile trying to find out how to do is how do I place editable html areas over photos or pictures. I like my pages to be centered, and resizable. I tried layers, but layers don't line up and float around when the page is viewed in a partial window and are hard to figure out where they go. Is there away to nail down layers and make them behave? Here is an example site of how I make generic pages, and it has an example of the problem I am trying to solve. http://www.machowomenwithguns.com/typical.htm Please help, I feel so lost.
