Im planning on building a website, i want to design my own layout and have a system where people register and have access to forums and can have their own webspace/profile where they can upload their images. Could anyone please tell me what I'd have to use for that?

for the layout - u need to build yourself a template or perhaps purchase a premade one (there are loads about - some free, some not).

as for the forum and webspace - have a look around on the web for scripts that have already been written (sites like hotscripts.com). if there's nothing about maybe you'll have to get someone to write it from scratch or manipulate existings scripts.

Design your own layout, that will be the easy bit. Do not even think about allowing the users to have webspace and email, etc until you know what you are doing. Logging into a ready made forum is easy, but if you start allowing them rights to other areas of your site from a forum login then you are asking for trouble.

I would recommend you look into php. Search google for php manual. Read it, think about it and play with the functions.

A webmaster creates his/her own security. Don't be left wishing.

Thank you very much guys for the replies, the layout wont be a problem, was just thinking of how to make the right system for the site. I'll try to look into php, oh by the way does anyone have any great php info links, as well for the beginners. Thanks in advance.
