Ok, I want to create a web page(es) which looks up registrs of domain names to more or less see if that domain name is already registered or not.

Often, I use the thingy at Dynadot, whenever I have a website idea and want to know if the website does exist or not, I put in the name, then it will search across a range of TLDs.

I want to do my own version of that, mostly because having so many, it is hard to keep track of which ones I still have. Where it says 'taken' I want it to then tell me if I am the one who already own it.

Ok, what I seek help on is, where would I find out information about domain name listings, and are there any tips or hints you can give me on this please?

Hello Jim,

The only one I can think of is Network Solutions WHOIS?.

If the domain name is not available, it shows Available Extensions, Available Domains, and Premium Resale Domains, might add on the last one some nice prices for the resale. Also it does show who owns the domain.

Just a tip, I couldn't get it to work properly for me until I had cookies enabled......

More thoughts....

If you had a particular name for a domain and it wasn't available, with their listing this might give you more ideas on a domain name you hadn't thought of...
