I need to rant because I'm having the worlds most frustrating day...

Why oh why is the FTP in Dreamweaver so complete and utter B*ll*cks.

The most annoying thing is when you want to cancel it.

You click cancel and it says "Canceling Operation" ... With a cencel button!?!?!?!

Status cancelling but it doesn't cancel!!??!??! How can you cancel a cancel when its cancelling?!??!

Has anyone else noticed this?!??! Do Macromedia know just how annoying it is!?!?!

can't remember noticing it. it often seems a bit slower than regular ftp (e.g. filezilla) but otherwise it's fine.

have you got the latest mx/mx2004 updater installed?

have you filed a bug report to MM on their website?

i just tried cancel (MX, win xp) and it worked ok...

Yeah I may file a report bug. Its the latest version and I've noticed it on a few different machines.

Feel better for getting that off my chest.

i've never personally used Dreamweaver FTP - there's so many better FTP programs in the market. try FireFTP....an extension to the FireFox browser - its very fast and pretty efficient!!

I like the FTP in Dreamweaver, saves me a lot of time when I'm updating websites.

I'm a web developer and have been using DW throughout my career, it's ftp has always been the biggest pain in the A55 for years, and the synchronisation sh*t is a joke, so no point defending them!

However, compared with the biggest pile of sh*t in the universe - MS VS for web development, the features provided by DW are much much much better than MS' products. So, the conclusion is: DW is less disgusting than VS, but that doesn't make it an angel.
