Happy New Year!

Being new to the forum, I may be posting to the wrong place. Also, pointing me to existing posts would be fine, too.

We have slowly figured out how to raise the visibility of our website and now have first page placement on Google for most of our key phrases. We also have much more traffic hitting the site than before. So, someone is looking

BUT, few actually call or email for information. SO, I think that my next step is to figure out how to make a site make the visitor have to take the next step and call.

Right now I am looking for resources and site examples to educate myself on the various approaches to creating the need for action in a visitor.

Any ideas of where to start my education?

I thank you!

John

One thing you can do to help increase your conversion is creating several landing pages for each keyword. On that landing page make sure you have them do something. Sign up for a free newsletter, contact you for more information etc. You have to lead them to what you want them to do. You need to first define the goal of your site. What exactly is it you want them to do when they come to your site? Do you want them to purchase something, sign up for something, contribute something? Once you figure this out then you can really drill down the best way to have them do this. A landing page is a very focused specific page that focuses exactly on what the user searched for. If you just send them to your home page you are more than likely confusing them. Do a search on google for landing pages to find out more.
