Hi,

I have been web designing for awhile now and have taken over as Web Strategist of a company in Florida. Thing is I have always used off-site hosting for my websites. For our application (a multi-million dollar doozy) we are having to bring the domain and website in-house.

I was wondering if anyone can explain to me the steps in this process (Bringing the domain from an outside company in-house) or just point me to a website that gives detailed instructions on the things to consider when doing this switchover. I know about bandwidth and server space and we've got that covered, I just need to ensure timeframe wise we can accomplish this to correspond with my goals. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks.

PB

What type of server are you running in-house? Don't foget that you need a Domain Name Sever like BIND running to point to your own server.

I do hope that you are not your server admin or I could see problems ahead. No offence!

Contact the server admin to see where you should point it.

Any more questions just shout!

No offense taken as I am not the Server Admin. Just wanted to get a timeframe as far as how long it would take to do the switch and what the difficulty level was. Thanks.
