Ok, I'm trying to create a site where guests or "users" can post things up. Not like a regular PHP/MySQL comment system. But one like sites such as fmylife.com. Where people post it on the front page, and they get comments also. I don't know what kinda script I need to actually *look* for, to do this.

But basically, I Want something like fmylife.com. Also where I can moderate the postings as well.

Or should I just hire a web designer/developer to get it going?

Script is not important, the idea is really great. Yes you can hire a web developer to making it happen or you do it by yourself. There are many Open Source webisite, you can learn from these sites.

Hiring a web developer or a company will be good. Also experienced person or company can help in making your site more user friendly and SEO friendly.

There are some open source solutions out there, but they might not do
exactly what you want, then you are stuck with finding someone that can
alter the code without ruining it.

I wrote a perl cgi a few years ago that does almost exactly what you are
looking. I would just need to tweak it for you. It would not be free though. It would be in the hundreds and upfront.
