Hi. I have a wordpress blog and I am looking to create my own template with my own design. what the first things that i should learn to do that. thanx.

1. Design Layout
2. Convert to XHTML + CSS
3. Divide XHTML into sections for includes and insert WordPress Template Tags
4. Edit CSS accordingly
5. Load theme from WordPress Panel

Do not attempt to download a free theme and then customize it.. you would never learn that way..but just get confused!

Thats a valuable suggestion by the web designer himself. Also,you should first go through the complete information and only then jump onto designing your own template.You can later refer back as you progress.

Hi everybody, somebody has used FANASTICO? My Hosting provider has this software but i had'nt reference about it. Is good like Wordpress and Joomla?

Fantastico is NOTHING like Joomla or Wordpress.

It is a scripting system that automates the installation of web apps such as Wordpress and Joomla.

according @JSTYLISH I will say the same with the addition of the following,
1. its better you will download a free wordpress template form wpskins.org and google it with free wordpress template.
2. If you are very much fluent with Xhtml and CSS and also have little bit knowledge of php then you can edit all the page and understand what you need to do .
3. But if you are not good with with Xhtml and css then I will suggest you to learn this 1st and then try to learn completely with PSD

Different CMS's,shopping Carts etc are included in Fantastico. You can ask for cPanel Fantastico from your web hosting provider. Fantastico offers one click installations scripts.

heavily agree with these two posts. although it is good to download a template if you need help on how you should go about certain things.

There is also software out there like SiteGrinder that translates PSD files to HTML for you. I believe they have a WordPress add-on as well that will convert any PSD into a Wordpress ready template.
