Hello!

How do you arrange your files in your website directory?

I used to have all files in the same directory.
Then I made a seperate folder for each page.
Now I see that sometimes I use the same file, image for example, more than once in seperate pages, and the same file exists in many folders.
I ve seen that some sites have a folder that contains all the images, backgrounds etc and they link from all pages to that image folder. Is that convienient? I m afraid it might take more time to load if the file is in another folder? Or thats not true?

Currently on my forums im working on I have...

All the php files in the main directory
images/
language/
templates/
includes/
admin/

I dont think it would affect the load time using seperate folders.. and it makes it easier for you

Is it better for making your website easier for crawl bots to make separate folders for each html page and to link to the folders instead of the actual .html file?

I'm just tidying up my pages now and was thinking of doing this.

It will make absolutely no difference at all for crawling.

It will however make it easier to change server technologies with no disruption to existing links.
