As the title says, I'm looking for an easy and simple way for my client to enter information himself, when I am done with the initial job. I thought about using WordPress, but wanted to see if there would be another way. Also, my client runs an online store--keep that in mind.

Thank you very much,
MT

You can usually find bridges to...bridge... wordpress to whichever e-commerce system your client is using.

CMS is probably the way to go (wordpress, joomla, drupal, phpnuke, vbportal etc.).

It will result in simple management for your client but the web-dev will have to be somewhat skilled to pull off a good bridge between systems.

Check out magento. It is pretty sweet for ecommerce.

You said your client 'runs an online store' - is it just a basic paypal checkout button ?

Does your client have more than 25 items? Are they expecting to expand their business? If so, you could use Joomla and install the virtuecart.

Although, like Leopard said; Magento is really good but more for those with ambitious e-commerce stores.

It depends.

Joomla + Virtuecart would be for those who have more a information website with supplementary sales

Magento would be purely for online shopping.

It is an online ticket scalping store, simply put. With Joomla, can I incorporate it within my own layout?

Definitely.

You just need to have a good understanding of XHTML/CSS

there are lots of different ways of runing this...
Use somehting like oscommerce or magento is you need more ebusiness funcitonality. If you need more content modification use Joomla / Modx or any other free CMS and get an ebusiness adon for them.
