I have built a website at www.muddywaterpirates.com that is too big for many peoples browsers and they have to scroll left and right to see the entire page.

Is there a code we can use that automatically resized the page if a member changes the size of their browser?

I've never noticed this problem on other sites I've built. I do use MS Front Page to build my sites and just can't figure this out.

Thanks

First of all, you should never ever use front page. It is out of date and only codes for microsoft browsers (internet explorer).

But to answer you question you can just use a flexible layout and use percentages or ems instead of pixels.

I use Firefox and it looks great in that browser. Honestly, I've tried other web design tools, in my affordable range, and nothing works as easily as front page. I've never used Dream Weaver, but I'm not a professional designer and don't want to pay the price for it, then I would have the learning curve. I know front page is out of date, but it works just like MS office apps which I'm very familiar with.

I wanted to hate it and move on, but it's just so easy to use.

Nope, there isn't. If you change your widths to percentages, ALL widths, then the site will accommodate different screen sizes, but you might get results at the higher resolutions that look bad.

I have to agree, FP is a big mistake, it spews garbage code that is meant to work seamlessly with ONE browser - IE. You don't have to spend hundreds of dollars on a better tool, there are some perfectly good ones that are $100 or less - and NOTEPAD is FREE!!

You have other problems:
-Validation errors out the wazoo
-NO DOCTYPE - you MUST have one if you want any semblance of cross-browser compatibility
- ewwwyyeeeww .. <font> tags - come to the modern century of web design, learn to use CSS for styling .. and layout

Okay, I'm not a professional, as you all no doubt can tell, but honestly, besides looking at my source information:

1 - how would CSS styling help my website?
2 - crossbrowser compatibility? I view my site in IE and Firefox, and they both look the same to me.
3 - what validation errors are there?

I don't particularly want to code everything in html using notepad. It's much easier to see what I'm putting together in a wysiwyg editor.
