I use mainly the free HTML editor from Coffeecup right now.
And Typo3, if that counts as editor, because this is where you built your structure and your content. The great thing is, that all this is for free.
In case I will ever earn money with websites (which is at that point far away ) I would probably switch to Dreamweaver. But I think it is just too expensive for the beginning, if you don't know how things will go. Also it is not wrong to do CSS and HTML from scratch, as long as you are not completely familiar with it.
I use EditPlus. I love how it lets you collapse code. When fully collapsed I can see the overall structure of my entire main page's php without scrolling. It's a big time-saver.
my favorite is Dreamweaver and i like text editor cos its good for adventure.I have learned that it is good to learn the hard way. So for newbies like me go the text editor way. "Know more than how, Know the Why"
Can you believe I'm still using Frontpage? I have and have tried other's, but Frontpage is what I used WAY BACK WHEN (says in her granny voice) and I know its buggy but I'm used to hand correcting it. A new program would just give me new bugs to fix and I don't know what they are yet. So I guess I'll keep being lazy and using Frontpage.
I use dreamweaver but alot of the time I end up using the codeview. I would never use frontpage because it produces cluttered invalid code and is bad for seo purposes.

I love Frontpage...I've been using it for 5 years now and it's worked wonders for site creation...I've created MANY sites using Frontpage...I like being able to have "easy to use/understand" products and Frontpage is just that. Simple.
I use Cute FTP for transferring stuff to my server...again, very simple.
