I use Dreamweaver for regular html and PHP Designer for mostly php based coding as it was designed especially for that. Therefore, both are my fav depending on what coding I'm doing.

Absolutely Dreamweaver!. I have been using Dreamweaver for a couple of years and its user ability outweighs the competiton. Coffee cup sukkked for me and wasn't as easy to use. Plus I like the ability to have more than one page open at a time within one instance of Dreamweaver.. A++++

Oh I'm so sorry that Sausage co. went out of business -- I love HotDog -- although I'm using version 6 -- because version 7, which I bought for $150, won't work; and the man who bought the company won't answer and won't help -- although he was happy to take my money for the nonworking version.... It does everything I need in an HTML editor! I've tried a bunch of others, but always come back

I used to use Dreamweaver all the time, but got annoyed with the amount of times it crashed during the day on my Mac, switched from DW to TextWrangler. Nice editor, but something was missing.

I currently use Coda, and it seems perfect for me at the moment. No doubt though something better will come along, and I'll change, but I'm happy with Coda for the moment.

Since I use a Mac most of the time, I use BBEdit. When I'm on my PC I use Notepad though I am a absolute beginner with HTML and have a lot to learn.

DreamWeaver is a must with auto-closing tags, suggestions when typing CSS... But I use to be a Notepad++ user.

I prefer Dreamweaver any day of the week, it's a great program.
