I have been using NVU for some time and found it to be very good.

I use DreamWeaver for the coloring, and that is all. Ideally I would like a less invasive program that has a nice look to it. TextPad is a little raw of a look for me. If I have to stare at a program for hours at a time I want it to look nice.

I hate how it automatically indents though.

I learned through notepad and it had been tough for me breaking from it. Old habits die hard after all. But I did try using Dreamweaver and I agree with all of you that it gets the job done easier. However, I still would like to have more if not full control over the codes so I can pinpoint directly my mistakes if ever something goes wrong.

Doesn't anyone else use Dreamweaver as a text-editor? It does a great job of it.

phpDesigner2008 has been my choice of IDE; however, I do tons of PHP, Javascript, MySQL and Perl code as well.

Michael Pham; however, started his product [under a different name] as an HTML editor.

Dreamweaver is fantastic in a way that it provides automated codes list. Well others probably also do.

Dreamweaver for me. It's a really well designed program. Never had it crash on me once.
