I choose Dreamweaver. It's more advanced to use.

Notepad2 or vi. Thankfully, I don't edit HTML very often.

I agree, FrontPage is best for people who are just starting to learn HTML, but Dreamweaver is a much more powerful HTML editor

Frontpage, from what I understand, is no longer being produced and supported by Microsoft

Hey Guys,

I beleive front page is real easy to use but less advanced, But Dreamweaver on the other hand is a little harder to use but more advanced.

Best Regards,

I've used Dreamweaver in the past, but it seems like its geared more towards the visual web designers rather than serious developers. I would never thing of using it for a huge project that requires lots of .php files and classes. I also don't like that the syntax highlighting sometimes just turns off. That really bothers me.

I use eclipse PDT for all my big PHP projects, and just eclipse in general for programming in everything except .NET. It's a great IDE and I think that you can gain a lot by using it.

I learned using notepad and jealousy, followed up by a greedy imperialistic streak with FrontPage, then I think dreamweaver 3? 2? Heck I dont know anymore, then was using Notepad++ and just a stack of printouts to use for guides, and now I have Dreamweaver CS3. And Im really not to..happy..with it. It makes me feel like how I first felt when I ran FrontPage for the first time.. Its that feeling, you know.. like your the ugly geeky kid, and all you can have is the second best, or in some peoples case, the 30th best. And thats all you really deserve.... yea.

I guess I could of summed it up with.. I use dreamweaver and notepad++ now.. but im really..not..very..happy..with it.

I' made a swap from notepad++ to Geany a few months ago and have had very few problems with it (since the last relase that is none). It's basically a small IDE which is great for me because not only does it work well with XHTML & CSS but I can use it for C programming as well.

It's available for Linux & Windows which is also just what I needed - who wants to have to use two different programs for the same tasks?

It's a wonderful little tool
