i am just getting past the basic stage, i'm only 15, but i still prefer to use Dreamweaver. I personally think Frontpage is really annoying. I started out using Frontpage but then found Dreamweaver and realised it was so much better. But everyone has the right to their own opinion.
I tried using Frontpage a couple of years ago and developed a lasting "hate-affair" with it! Right now I am using a basic text editor, but I will probably end up getting Dreamweaver eventually.
Yeah.. I don't think so. DW is a good tool ONCE YOU KNOW HOW TO CODE by hand. In the hands of a complete noob, it's a disaster, you learn NOTHING.

I use good old Notepad. I haven't found anything I like better so far, but I'll have to find an alternative once I switch to a Mac (I've always used windows in the past, but it keeps getting worse, with Vista and all that, and I've never like Micro$oft. For quite some time I've wanted to get a MacBook). I'll probably end-up using TextWrangler then.
I Use Frontpage and coffee cup just because its so much simpliar then plain text...GO VISUAL EDITORS..
I think thats really the where the difference is. Frontpage is more for novices, because the use the WYSIWYG functionality.
As webmasters get more developed they shy away Frontpage's babying characteristics and actually start to dislike it. When I see a website, and it looks like tables and marquees, I always open the code and look for Frontpage's key signs.
We prefered Dreamweaver. Is the best tool, you can do everything.
If you conect it with Flash and Fireworks with Html and php for example: < link drop removed >
Enjoy it

I usually start off in Dreamweaver and then move into notepad but I like Templates in Dreamweaver - is there an smaller app that can deal with templates like Dreamweaver does?
Also I like Dreamweaver's find and replace - again, is there a smaller app that will find and replace in many documents and also supports regular expressions?

Smultron for the Mac!. I only use it for its syntax highlighting features. It's good with CSS, XML, HTML, and PHP. If I'm windows, notepad...... when I'm editing directly on my linux server, Vi... emacs sucks... Vi wins.... end of debate.
