I enjoy using dreamweaver, but I haven't used anything else. I love the fact the dreamwever help with so many options that i'm not familiar with yet.I started with notepad then notepad++, but wanted to jump into building websites.maybe i'll try frontpage when I learn more about dreamweaver.

I use MS Expression to build websites.
It cost a bit to buy, but it's good I find. (apart from the random odd crashing).

LOL!

FP has been superceded by Expression Web which is a much better product. It's still not perfect but streets ahead of FP.

Unfortunately I can't find the perfect editor. I initially thought EW might be close but then I tried coding PHP in there and it's not a mistake I'll make again.

Dreamweaver I have but I just don't like. I'm not a fan of things that just override my code without a by your leave. If I'd wanted it that way then I wouldn't have done it the way I did.

I've tried HTML-Kit, OK but a few irritants with search and replace. Many of the others gave me BOM trouble so I'm currently using UniRed Text Editor but ask me again next month.

I've been using frontpage for a few years now, I have dreamweaver but am unfamiliar with it.

Is it really worth it? What are the reasons I should switch. I'm not a web programmer, so I need something easy so I spend time making content, not fussing with a editor.

what is wrong with front page?

dreamweaver is just a good editor I have seen.

I am a SEO in website designing company working in this field for past 2 years. And I believe dreamweaver is the best I have ever experienced.

Beside that hotmetal and editplus are some basic ones I uses...

what is wrong with front page?
Microsoft hates the W3C, and so does FrontPage, to put it bluntly.
FrontPage often generates poorly constructed, poorly formatted and proprietary code, meaning sites built with it don't always look as good in browsers other than Internet Explorer.
Dreamweaver isn't perfect itself, but it's far better than FrontPage.
If Moxiecode can create a web based visual editor that creates valid XHTML, there's no reason these companies can't (TinyMCE 3rc2 generates valid code).

Personally, I use Mousepad (like NotePad, but under Linux), SCIte or Aptana (for my Rails projects).
