check it out.. www.leehughes.co.uk

I don't know how it happened or why it happened but it happened.

I have taken everything off my server, deleted my define site and started a new one then uploaded everything again.

i was messing around with he site map layout tab under site definition. Would this be enough to do this? But after this happened I deleted the old site definition and started a new one.

still I have a blank white screen.

so annoying, I only just solved one problem then this!

Live and learn eh!

Blank, but it's serving a page index.html
Code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" />
<title>Untitled Document</title>
</head>

<body>
</body>
</html>
Check your file names. Make sure you want this to be the home page, not index.php or something else.
Open your home page, save it so it's file date changes to current then upload the home page. Check that you don't have and .htaccess file changing something also.

hi,

is index.php better than index.html?

I did everything you said, still a blank screen. I have emailed my server as well to see if it's a problem on their side

If your server has the default page set as index.html, then it's not going to serve index.php as the default. Chances are you're going to have to remove the index.html page from your site's root directory to make it pick up index.php as the default instead.

Hmm, sometimes it happened at my end but as Geek suggests you may have a default blank index.html page on your server. Just rename it to index1.html and you should see you new non blank page hopefully.

Everything seems to be working fine now.

I emailed my server and they said they couldn't find any problems with it, they gave me a list of reasons, which are as following.

The problem may have been caused by an Internet wide network issue outside of our control.

There may have been a temporary problem on your PC or local connection.

It may have happened during a maintenance period on a server and so be very unlikely to occur again.

It was a one off glitch that's just proved impossible to retrace.

crazy..

Hi, leehughes!

It's working, it's really working. I have recently checked out it. It's not disappeared. Congrats on back to your site.
