Hi, Guys!

I have seen that websites automatically detect Screen Resolution of PC. I mean they look same on 800*600, 1024*765 and 1152*864.

Here is an Example of MSN.com. When I open this on 800*600, it automatically adjust its size because Screen Resolution is smaller than the Website size. When I open it on 1024*765, it normally fit on this size because Website's actual size is 1024*765. But When I open MSN on 1152*864, then Screen Resolution size become bigger than Website size but Website automatically detects Screen Resolution and leave equal spaces of its left and right side and looks pretty fit on the screen.

So My question is, how Website automatically detect 1152*864 screen resolution and make itself fit on screen? If it's a coding then I request you to tell me. I make Website on HTML and write coding only. I never use any software like Dream Weaver.

If you couldn't understand then see photos that I have uploaded on Rapid Share.

WEBSITES themselves don't detect anything.

Sounds like a liquid layout using CSS, no browser detection necessary.

Hi, LadynRed!

You did a great job and you gave me answer that I was looking for. Thanks! I searched on the web for Liquid Layout and now I am working on.

I think you couldn't understand my English and I realize that my English is a bit weak. Sorry for this. But You gave a great answer. Thanks again.

Now Because you looks me an Expert of Web, so here is another question for you. Plz don't mind.

Q: Which is the greatest alternative of Google Adsense? I mean that alternative should give equivalent money as Adsense give. I am trying Adbrite, Bidvertiser and Adster but they are giving me nothing. For Example $0.38 for 4 clicks but Google Adsense some times give near about $2.00 for 4 clicks. So I want a great program that should be equal to Adsense.

My Adsense account disabled not due to invalid clicks, that was an unknown reason.

Please give me answer, I will be grateful to you for this kind act.

Best Regards,

Qasim Ali.

I'm afraid that's a question I can't answer because I don't know anything about Adsense or any other ad campaigns, I don't use them. You might ask this question in our Search Engine areas.

One thing that I think a lot of people overlook, especially when they are designing is who they are designing for. If you are designing for yourself, than obviously you can make the site whatever resolution you want to display however you want. But if you are looking to visitors, you need to keep in mind the popularity of certain resolutions.

For example, I used to work for a company that told me to design in a 800x1200 format because most people have a 800x600 display (not everyone's has the latest $2000 monitor). Gradually that was changed to the 1024x800 display which a lot of websites are now more positioned for. So personally, thats something to consider.

Is it just me or are liquid designs pretty much dead? Is it a sin to make a liquid design now of days?

heh yeah, I try and stay away from liquid designs. I just think that a liquid design makes a website look undefined although in cases such as message boards, I can tolerate it.
