Did a search for "sitemap", "site map", "generator", "visual" and combinations thereof. All results turned up for XML sitemaps.

I'm looking for a program, or online tool, for generating a visual sitemap tree for planning the layout and organization of content.

Something that is easier than just creating boxes in Word, or laying out in Photoshop/Illustrator.

I'm working on a mac, so those of you who generate these kinds of sitemaps (for proposals), I'd like to hear what you'd recommend as far as shareware, freeware or even if there's an online tool you use.

Examples: http://www.wmnet.org.uk/resources/TT...es/sitemap.gif
http://www.baliweddingcatering.com/i...itemap-img.png
http://weblogs.macromedia.com/xd/archives/sitemap.png

Edit: Also, I wasn't sure which forum this belonged it. It's more of a "pre-design" question pertaining to planning and schematics. Figured this was the best place. Mods, move if needed.

Thanks in advance!
Kris

Visio would be the MS tool to be looking at.

What you are looking for is called a "Tree Chart" or a "Node Map"

This is a .NET one http://www.codeproject.com/KB/cs/TreeGenerator.aspx

You could use an XML sitemap with an XML transform, that will use a css-like file to render it like html. Then it will display seamlessly on your site.

Hi

Sorry to jump into this post but has anyone found a Graphical sitemap generator?

It is driving me nuts! i Need a Graphical representation of a web site (Little boxes with lines etc.) for a client but am totally unable to find one. I have XML sitemap generator's coming out of my ears but cannot find one that shows a site visually from URL or localhost.

I really cant face doing it in photoshop so any ideas would be great.

Hi

There's a commercial tool called PowerMapper that does what you want. It produces visual sitemaps (as well as the XML variety) in a number of different styles.
www . powermapper.com/

Hope this helps.

Disclaimer: I work for the company that produces the tool.

Regards
