Attention Web masters

I recently posted a thread on a management program. Which said.

Does anyone know of a great management program for web development? I am looking for something like macromedia sitespring. The application should be web-based, file-server-based or file management, and be able to communicate with clients. I would also like it to generate tasks and reports. If this is not possible does any one have a checklist for web development (for both personal and commercial) that they will be willing to share with me?

I am disappointed to say that I received one post, and that one post was from the Administrator of webmaster-talk (DMo224), wondering if I received and comment. I not aware if this site is designed to help beginners. But I consider myself an advanced user in web development. I understand to have a great web design; you need to keep track of information. Like what pages need to be worked on or what pages are completed. Clients want to know what portion of the site is complete or still under construction. All I asked was there a program or a checklist for this. When I received no answer that told me that you web masters do not keep track of your work in any matter. When no one replied I felt that I might be at the wrong place to post comments like the one I posted.

Since no one felt that a management program is important to them. I will develop one for myself. I will offer one copy to that administrator who posted a comment wonder if I received any information.

Thank you,
Encrypt

I'm afraid I've got no experience of these things (I mostly work alone or in small teams so have never needed a management program), but some of these might be of help:

Hope some of them are of use.

Hi encrypt,

I am sorry we were not able to help you. We all sort of specialize in our own areas. Hopefully in time (Webmaster-Talk grows everyday), we will have more members able to help in this area.

Your question is a good one and an important one. Maybe someone else can jump in with some helpful comments.

P.S> It's good to have you with us. Welcome aboard.

Does any of this help as a starting checklist?

What the user will see on the site?
What is the tone of the content presentation? (Corporate? Friendly? Conversational?)
Who will write the content?
What actions can they take?
How it will lead to a sale?
How feedback, complaints and inquiries be handled? What is the response time?
How often will the site be updated? Who's in charge? In-house updating or outsourced?
What domain name address will you use? (Corporate name? Brand name?)
Where will you host the site? (US? Local ISP?)

Since I received no replies to the post. I started putting together my own program. You can review it at my site. The program is still being developed. There are still thing that I need to add. I want to add a report section that will let you know what percentage of the site is complete with percent signs or with a bar chart. I’m looking for a script or program that will do analysis on broken links, spelling, meta tags, and syntax errors. If you know of any that I can use and integrate into the program, please post the information.

The program on my site is a demo only. The submit button do not work.
