Recently, I have seen that much of my visitors are coming from India. I mean, it doesn't make sense to me as my business does not cater to their country. i wanted to target the US, Canada, UK and Australia. Is their a way to promote a site to a specific country. I know there is Google uk, google canada and others but I dont know how to use it to my advantage.

You can use Google Webmaster tools to add your site for a specific region, and from now on if you are adding your site to directories, try to add only in directories from country you want to rank.

hmm, if you wish to conserve bandwidth you can just setup a redirection based on IP. There are free country IP database: http://software77.net/cgi-bin/ip-country/geo-ip.pl

and to advertise you can geo-target your ads if you using ppc
